Dr. Suzuki went to USA in 1963, and studied under the supervision of Prof. H.C. Brown at Purdue University. After coming back to Hokkaido University, he devoted himself to research and education as a professor of Faculty of Engineering, collaborationg with many oversea researchers. This film traces his history of research and education.

Not only Dr. Suzuki had shown eminence on academic achievements, but taken up such a position as a chairman on IUPAC Dijon Conference in France. He had also given lots of invited lectures on international conferences, and experienced visiting or invited professors abroad.


You can see his relations to many people through the film: the meeting with Prof. Brown who had much influenced on Suzuki’s research, his family who have supported his academic carrier, and so on.
 

Dr. Suzuki has produced great works in the fields of synthetic organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, and catalytic chemistry. He paved the way for various applications in such fields as medicines, agricultural chemicals, liquid crystal and organic EL, which are now essential for our daily life.
